Who runs this site

The Bay Forager is operated by Nick Robertson. You can reach us at nick@rarecombinations.com.

What we collect

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, such as which pages are visited and the general type of device and browser. We run it in cookieless Consent Mode, so it does not store cookies on your device or identify you personally. What we see is aggregated.

Newsletter and updates. If you sign up for our email list, we store the email address you give us so we can send foraging updates. We use it only for that purpose. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time.

Contact form. If you message us through the contact form, it is delivered by Formspree, and we receive the name, email, and message you submit so we can reply.

Tour bookings. Walk bookings are handled by Tixtree through a widget on our Tours page. When you book, Tixtree collects and processes your booking and payment details under its own privacy policy. We do not see or store your card information.

Tips. If you choose to leave a tip, you are sent to a payment page hosted by Stripe, which processes your payment under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your card details.

Server logs. Like most websites, our host (Google Firebase Hosting) keeps standard request logs, such as IP address and browser type, for security and reliability.

Cookies

Because our analytics run in cookieless mode, this site does not set analytics or advertising cookies. The Tixtree booking widget may set its own cookies when you use it; see Tixtree's privacy policy for details.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that help us run the site: Google (Analytics, Firebase Hosting, and Firestore), Formspree (contact form delivery), Tixtree (tour bookings), and Stripe (tips). Each handles your data under its own privacy policy.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access or delete any personal information you have given us by emailing nick@rarecombinations.com. If you receive emails from us, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We may update this policy. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
